Caught in the crossfire of the Episcopal Church schism, I never fit—too liberal for conservatives, too conservative for progressives. As a female priest, wife, and mother under scrutiny, I lost my place in ministry. Yet in the quiet glow of Shabbat candles and the rhythm of Jewish practice, I found healing, authenticity, and a path back to God beyond the confines of church politics.
